I felt like the movie in the first third was going somewhere, then Miyazaki decided to abandon all narrative logic once the kid went into the fantasy world and just throw a bunch of (admittedly pretty) fantasy stuff at us that seems to defiantly not have themes or a comprehensible character arc.

Does this extend to other people named Cass? Because I am a huge fan of Cass Elliott.
