Okay last one: Bishop Briggs opening for Bleachers. She was incredible.

Oh, and when @tdoodle.bsky.social and I saw Dessa on purpose, MONAKR was a special guest and opened for her.

I think this works—I saw Welcome to Night Vale’s live show and Dessa was the weather.

Reminds me of when I was 20 and my older sister made me a series of mixed CDs for a bday gift.

This was before we knew you could adjust the track volume in iTunes, so every song on Oldies But Goodies was a normal volume until the violin intro for “At Last” started blaring.

My pleasure! I usually look for queer reading lists on Autostraddle, them, and Lambda Literary. @proud-geek.co.uk and littlegaybookstore on instagram also have great book rec lists with specifics of type of relationship, genres, general vibes, etc.

There’s also a few short stories I’d recommend:

Beyond the Dragon's Gate by Yoon Ha Lee: reactormag.com/beyond-the-d...

“Try Again” and “The Self-Made Man” by Reuben Reyes Jr., both in his short story collection, There Is a Rio Grande in Heaven
Beyond the Dragon's Gate - Reactor
Former Academician Anna Kim’s research into AI cost her everything. Now, years later, the military has need of her expertise in order to prevent the destruction of their AI-powered fleet.

Robot consciousness is right in my wheelhouse! Here’s a few just in case you’re familiar with some already:

Monk & Robot series by Becky Chambers (I’d also recommend her Wayfarers series, especially book 2)

Automatic Noodle by Annalee Newitz

The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells

Ahh, I’m very silly—like I said to Tricia above, my current read is probably also of interest: The Midnight Shift by Cheon Seon-Ran
