The @albomp.bsky.social govt is being awfully quiet about Lattouf v ABC

Not even any expressions of "grave concern" about the craven capitulation, unlawful behaviour & derogation of public interest journalism by ABC senior management?

No interest in the integrity of the national broadcaster?
hey quick question: is anyone in the government's leadership going to say anything about the ABC? surely a high profile unfair dismissal linked to managing cowing to a lobby group, and involving board meddling, is worth saying something? maybe even an investigation? some consequences for the board?

Ofc screenshots only capture one moment in time & may not reflect more than that one moment but—I'd love to know what's on PK's mind here.

Husic: “If Israel wants to argue others shouldn’t get nuclear weapons they should be a party to the NPT.”

PK: [I fuckin' hate my job.]

It has taken a court case and legal decision to highlight the undue influence of the pro-Israel lobby on the state broadcaster.

Congratulations to Lattouf and her team.

However, does raise the question of what other areas of govt policy have/are influenced by the lobby?

I hope the Lattouf decision gives other board members decision makers around the country serious pause in the future.
Political opinions are still legal in this country. Facts and criticism about horrific human rights violations should be supported, not punished.

Time for media to demand some of public spokespersons for the Australian Israel Lobby defend starving the children of Gaza. None I
of the many Jewish friends I've had over a long life would have supported these outrages.
So here's the bigger question coming out of the #AntoinetteLattouf victory:

WHY did the ABC cave in to the Israel lobby?

And more broadly; HOW does a foreign influence group have so much power over our media, politicians, universities, cultural institutions and the arts? #ZionistMcCarthyism
"the decision was made to appease the pro-Israel lobbyists who would inevitably escalate their complaints about the ABC employing a presenter they perceived to have anti-Semitic and anti-Israel opinions in such a public position."

BAM.

Darryl Maguire is an ex-Liberal MP and Berejiklian’s ex-lover.

Did Zenek fk up or was this purposeful disinformation?

A retraction in print is warranted.

On the other we have Scott Morrison, Joe Hockey, Richard Marles and Angus Taylor saying all good mate.
