I like giant robots, cosplay and music you make on The Computer. Sometimes I write. he/they
Both of them died like 2 years apart over a decade ago. I've forgotten enough of the stories that it's a little frustrating.

I hope I can remember more.

He didn't really share any stories about his time serving. I caught an inkling when the Bush (II) admin started half-heartedly recognizing the Filipino soldiers who fought for the US in WW2. He got a letter. Everything else I found out was from going over there for the first time a few years ago.

I never knew my maternal grandfather as well but he was always an intensely poised and dignified man. I only ever knew him as a widower and then, a serial playboy

A man so stubborn that one Christmas he said "thank you for all coming to our last Christmas together" and he fucking died on the 21st the very next year. King shit.

By the time he got the job done, he had these huge blistering chemical burns from his shoulders to his ass, as a result of the aviation fuel soaking through his uniform and degreasing his skin, which had him bedridden for days and being told off for not being more patient in draining the tank.

Funniest story he told was him sitting inside the gas tank of a C-130 to do maintenance but it wasn't fully drained. Having his back against shallow pools of airplane fuel for hours, which ran in strips across his back.

He was a stubborn man. Missed out on his full military pension because he refused a transfer that would have lasted longer than his remaining time in the service. Constantly insisted on cutting the Gordion knot and doing things himself, even if it meant something was broken. Sometimes that was him.

I was always closer with my paternal grandfather who lived close and was always over on weekends to do DIY projects with my dad (we lived in a money pit perma-reno house). He was the oldest guy I knew who had a tattoo, from his time in Italy. A little guy with a pencil mustache and movie star looks.

The artist who know how to draw bodies Juicy can use those talents for evil (gay man drawing) or also evil (gay woman drawing). They contain beautiful multitudes.

I think the corrolary to "writer who doesn't read" is "writer who only reads and writes fanfic of non-prose works". Those people are just Posting and they want to acheive a higher level of Posting on Ao3 (their Destiel dark omegafic getting reskinned as a paperback).

Fwiw I only recently started reading fiction longer than like, a novella, thanks to a long commute and better meds and still tried to keep up with interesting self-pubs and SFF mags. It doesn't seem that hard even with an attention span obliterated by social media.
