Awee that sucks, but I'm glad something good came back! I've just gone through the cousins and confirmed 1 family as related & broke a brick wall for one family that went to London. All descendants of my 6x grampie's brother, so pretty distant, but I like working on them still.

Thanks :) based on the more recent stories I've heard, that's how she was all the time. Always leading with kindness :)

They mentioned that in one of the 1860s(I think) reports. They phrased it as the women being shy or something. I think they kinda dismissed it though as not being prevalent enough to affect the stats, but on the scale we work it definitely is important to consider!

Yep! I ended up looking for the reports and there's some of them online under the name: Annual report of the Registrar-General of births, deaths, and marriages in England.

That my Grandma's parents are 2nd cousins, 4th cousins, and 2nd cousins again. What an funny turn of events after worrying for so many years that I'm going to run out of people to research. More worrying for me I guess! ha!

I haven't got mine either. It's definitely taking longer than usual—normally takes like less than a week for me. We'll probably just have to wait a while.

You could Google GenUKI parishes map [name of your parish]. That will bring up partial maps from GenUKI and then you could piece together the area that you're looking for

I feel like the answer if gonna be "it depends on a lot of factors." I looked at some seals this morning and father/son & step-father/step-son, all 4 of them had the same seal. But it was a simple crosshatch design, so I feel like it was a seal the lawyer brought.

Am I crazy, or did the AI not say anything new about the situation at all? It also says that Jacob and David having a sibling whose children are John and William makes them David's cousins which is just not true, it's just repeating the original question.
