For context (a thread!): I left media in 2022 after more than 18 years in freelance/staff newsroom roles, working primarily as a critic, feature writer, business analyst, editor, and reporter. Heaviest focus areas included games, consumer tech, film/TV, geek culture, and web culture.

Politicians who promise accountability should be the only vote-getters in any US elections at this point. If you're running for office at any level and you're not talking about bringing the power of U.S. courts, international courts, and extradition to bear on these MFers, kindly step off the stage.
It is unfathomable that the USG lawyers would sign off on a no-survivors boat strike (no get of jail free card).
There's clear precedent dating back to World War II trial of Germans for that very act, which lawyers know well.
