Athens Democrats found out about an event Congressman Mike Collins was speaking at and planned a protest (since he hasn’t made himself available to constituents elsewhere). The conservative student group cancelled the event with the most crybaby BS I have ever seen. #GAPol

Mike Collins can’t be bothered to come to Athens to talk to concerned constituents, but he does have time to come to a bar to meet with special interest groups. He’ll be at Paloma Park this Thursday at 4pm!

Why do today’s 20-somethings think that the previous generation of 20-somethings were living in houses all by ourselves? Maybe the locals who got married at 21 were. The rest of us had roommates! Who gave you the expectation that you would own a home at 24? Just invite your friends over!

The fact that “student housing” (privately owned multifamily housing marketed toward college students) is considered completely separate from “multifamily housing” by market research firms really makes it frustrating to try to to learn anything about the housing market in Athens, GA.

In this instance “just give people housing” also means “just give landlords money” - and I need people to understand that landlords will only accept this money if vacancy rates are high enough that they need to worry about finding market rate tenants. YIMBY validation.

My husband doesn’t sing, but has -several times!- asked to go out to karaoke with me because he knows I love singing and he likes to gas me up. 23y/o me would be in shock at how good a relationship can be.

Thinking about applying to work as a bus driver in my city (which desperately needs drivers) but I’m seriously considering whether I could handle this kind of schedule. Is this normal for bus drivers?
