Let's put aside the fact that, in a *sane* country, the ACA wouldn't be needed at all, because there would be universal single payer healthcare, instead of greedy corporate for-profit health insurance that's sucking the American people dry like a vampire squid.

According to some studies (notably referenced in Bob Altemeyer's "The Authoritarians") roughly 1/3 of people are authoritarian followers who will always support someone they perceive as a strong leader. Which kind of tracks here- that might be the floor, 34% of the US is in a cult.
