The system failed the stress test miserably a very long time ago; just wasn’t as blatant b/c America hasn’t witnessed - in real time - a leader so devoid of humanity. Millions’ve always voted for their own demise. GOP politicians tell their voters they’re sick b/c they’re not praying hard enough. 🤷🏻♀️

I’ve seen far too often, people being denied critical care and opting for drug trials, just to be seen by healthcare professionals. Exploitation of the sick abounds when it means profitability.

The US was built on systemic exploitation of its own people - some more than others. The citizenry brainwashed by the propaganda of “exceptionalism”. If one’s already exceptional, then there’s no need for improvement & therefore no reason for change. That’s an elusion believed by far too many.

Healthcare in the US is similar to what you see in poor nations. Only the affluent can afford suitable care. The ocean between the haves and have nots, is vast.

When my daughter was an infant, the insurance company refused to pay her regular checkup/vaccination claim due to preexisting condition; being born. They never paid despite multiple calls & irrefutable evidence she was only a few months old w/ no preexisting condition, other than being alive & well.
