Who are the Wobbly 7? And why do they matter?
7 Union organizers, known as the wobbly, 7, were given so-called "final warnings" by Peet's starting days before Thenaksgiving, relating to a union aciton that was 6 weeks earlier. At that action, union members and their allies showed up to supposed a fellow worker. None of the workers being investigated were informed what was happening until Peet's management gave letters to the Wobbly 7, informing them that these letters served as their "final warnings". Peet's was seemingly targeting union activists with vague "final warnings" that did not contain specific allegations about what the workers had supposedly done, and did not provide any evidence that the Wobbly 7 had violated any policies. The 7 attempted to file a grievance with Peet's management over this apparent union busting and targeting of the Wobbly 7, but Peet's replied to us that they would not consider our grievance until we had a contract. This comes from the same management that has delayed contract negotiations from the moment we reached out to begin bargaining. On February 3rd, Deya, one of the Wobby 7, was fired for forgetting to inform her manager that a fellow worker was late. She cares deeply for her fellow workers and has been fighting for fairer treatment of workers. This was clear targeting for behavior that management didn't like, outside of her work performance. Anyone could be next.

This "final" and "immediate" Notice of Violation was applied to the fence at the encampment at St-Stephens-in-the-Field with no notice from the City. If anyone sees any activity which suggests the possibility of a clearing/eviction, please let someone from the church know about it right away!

A giant black cat (known as the "Sabo cat", the mascot of the IWW) attacking rats who have apparently been scabbing during a strike. They are dropping their tools and fleeing the cat, who has caught one in his mouth. The text reads "Down Tools means Don't Scab" and there's an IWW logo.
