And even if we can't quite call 2025-era Jarvis or the crowd at Glasto "common", the feeling of being screwed over by those with the money and knowledge to do a lot more than just commodifying your misery is as relevant today as ever.
People underestimate the sheer, lucid, righteous fury of Common People. One of the angriest songs ever to be a big hit.

Re LLMs writing term papers: the other day I saw someone say that using LLMs to write is like bringing a forklift to the gym. It's not that the weights need to go up; it's that you need to do the lifting. The doing of the work is the result, not the paper being done or the weights having moved.

I very rarely re-read books (who has time?!) but this was just as brilliant the second time round. A frontier adventure, a harrowing slice of a bloody historical period, a queer love story, a linguistic feast. 10/10.
