Is your PhD supervisor neurodivergent?
Recently, some colleagues and I released a paper about the experiences of neurodivergent PhD students. It’s a systematic review of the literature to date, which is currently under review, but…

Looking forward to giving my first (double) lecture of the term to first year undergrads today on digital electronics. A week later than hoped for as I got caught up in the freshers' flu epidemic last week. But hoping I can make up for it today!

Nice article below. It was similar thinking that motivated us to develop networks around Boolean LUT rather than matmul in 2019.

Congrats to Martin Langhammer, has passed his PhD viva. A great pleasure working with Martin, who I have known for decades! An impressive body of work on high performance and compact soft SIMT processors for FPGAs.
Thanks also to Vaughn Betz and Christos Bouganis for examining.

Back from NeuMat kickoff: network in neuromorphic materials and devices for future AI hardware at stunning Trinity. As someone bridging software and digital accelerator design for ML, interesting to hear from materials and devices people. There is a lot we can do together!

It was great to see all the staff of @imperialeee.bsky.social so engaged with common purpose. And my father-in-law will be extremely jealous when I show him photos from the venue!
I had a busy day yesterday. I’d arranged an away-day for the department (Electrical and Electronic Eng) and we had some productive and wide-ranging discussions. We’d booked out the Museum of Steam and Water near Kew Bridge and they were kind enough to stream the big engines during our lunch break.

Read this new book by @historyned.bsky.social while on holiday. Fascinating. As a non-historian, Katja Hoyer hooked me on DDR history and Ned Richardson-Little has just helped feed my interest. Great set of references for further reading at the back too!
The German Democratic Republic by @historyned.bsky.social provides a succinct and comprehensive history of East Germany and its people, from its early Cold War foundations to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
