People would rather do activism based on outrage rather than trying to understand the problem. And this goes for both sides of the political spectrum. Albeit it’s shown more on one side vs the other.

Even in that Garland memo. He clarifies on what is concerning, brought about by the National Board of educators. Republicans would rather stoke the fire and say “no, biden’s justice department is calling parents terrorists!!!”

At least people come together and are forced to hear the other side during these board meetings. Things get implemented and then you see results. . . For better or for worse and iterate on it.
My critique is on the pipeline of people’s activism.

I think both claims are true here. I do not deny that there were people that saw the memo and jumped to action. I also believe that the 4ever trumpers will sic on who/whomever trump points his rage at.

It's kind of like Thanksgiving family gatherings. Some people still hold to tradition even if it means that they need to tolerate Uncle Donald who assisted for mass deportations, tries to shill his memecoins, and can only talk about how great he is for "making the family great again".

It's pretty clear what side of the political spectrum focuses on these issues. Republicans and furthermore, Trump; have been successful in fanning the flames of anger to be directed at the School Boards, thus giving a targeting signal to their base. Another example is "They are eating the cats"

"Schools have become a focus of political fights around the US over Covid pandemic safety measures, including masks, and over history lessons in curriculums that some conservatives claim are critical of White people.
These normally aren’t matters within the purview of the Justice Department."

This article does link the USJD to the School boards, but not in the way that negates anything said about political mobilization. If anything, it spread light about the type of political mobilization on school boards. It shouldn't be the case that people threaten death or violence to school

Assuming your assertion that USJD motivated change, what is the link to local board meeting to the Justice department? It’s like yelling at a finance department because your computer isn’t turning on.

I didn’t say conservatives. If they are conservatives, then they would have been involved with local politics already. When I say MAGA, I’m talking about people who have never thought about politics until the “funny guy” or “drain the swamp guy” told them all the bad things that are happening.

The easiest way is to start at the local level. Trump emboldened non-political people into politics to mobilize and be involved. Why else do you see MAGA’s constantly at School Board meetings or in front of Planned Parenthood offices where they wouldn’t have otherwise before
