This is unfathomably shameful. How do we even have to debate this? Why would anyone ever again be so foolish as to trust or help the United States if this is how we treat people who risk their lives on our behalf?
An Afghan man who worked as a translator for the U.S. military during the war was detained by ICE after showing up for a hearing inside of a federal courthouse in San Diego, his attorney says. He fears that if he returns to Afghanistan, he would be tortured or even killed, @nbcsandiego.com reports.

This is at least the second time Goldman Sachs has lowered the savings account interest rate for #Apple cardholders with a letter using the exact same wording. If I read this and didn't know better, I'd think that the Fed lowered interest rates. They haven't. They hadn't the time before either.

One thing I wish people understood about authoritarianism is life often looks more or less the same. Troops aren’t marching down the street every day; people go to restaurants, have their office jobs. But everyone knows that stepping out of line, even slightly, can derail your life with no recourse

BREAKING from @science.org: The Trump admin is seeking to kill nearly all climate research at NOAA, its climate science agency.

Its near-final budget proposal would end all NOAA research labs, academic institutes, and regional climate centers. And it wants to fully end the NOAA Research division.
