Last time a French RPG made me this sad and confused was when I got ate by that giant panther head signpost in Drakkhen.

They do it again later with this convo with Sciel. It's true her student won't make it past 21, but she won't make it past 20 either: in thirteen years the monolith will be set at 20 when she's 19. Might be an odd translation error ("she won't even see her 21st birthday") but it still sticks out.

Liking Expedition 33 so far but the whole time I was thinking "old French RPGs used to be way weirder and more obtuse than this, it's not really honoring its antecedents". But then I got hit with whatever this is and all was forgiven:
