I think it also gives My Pilots a really unique silhouette so Im happy. I'LL ALSO SAY I can't remember if I started watching Wolf's Rain before or after designing the plugsuits but I suspect it was Before bc Cheza's outfit is similar.

but i just find them really cute. Maybe I saw some robot art that inspired me at the time. you can see in my art that I love attributing animalistic body language thru the tails and that's something I love in general-- but funnily enough I don't enjoy furry art very much. My brain is weird (3/4)

other extremities of the body also should have places where stuff slots in so then the hands and feet needed to be uncovered too. the tail was always part of it but I'm not sure where it came from specifically. I guess it felt like a good shorthand for the invasiveness of the procedure? (2/4)

skintight suits are already common in the mecha genre so that part felt like it kind of made itself, but the specifics of the suit design stemmed from idea of the torso/crotch port basically. Needed a crotch window for the port. Then I figured (1/4)
