Given that she overtly argued in favor of bullying gendered minorities in her response essay, I absolutely cannot see her actions as anything other than exactly that.

On an unrelated note, the course I'm prepping now has a week each on feminist rhetoric and queer rhetoric.

For whatever reason, the student very obviously wrote her response as bait that she knew would get a zero, and is trying to spin this into an outrage--maybe turn herself into a Laura Loomer.

Since the response didn't, you know, *respond to the reading*, the prof marked a zero and offered to coach the student on how to get better credit on her next assignment. The other prof confirmed the grade was appropriate.

Within 4 hours, the student had sent the whole thing to the university's--

The student's response (ignoring the quality of her writing) basically said "naw dog, bullying people to conform to gender roles is good because the Bible," stretched to a paper-thin 650 words. It engaged in no way with the reading's arguments and called queer folks "demonic" repeatedly.

For those who aren't aware: a Junior took a psych class taught by a trans TA, with a supervising tenured prof. For one week's response essay, there was a psychology article about gender and bullying and stereotypes--milquetoast stuff. Nothing radical or particularly challenging.
