Ryan Ottley is the obvious choice, just look at how incredible his work on last year’s special was!

This isn’t the smoking gun you think it is. His experience with Blackwater is literally what radicalized him AGAINST the US using its military as a weapon to destabilize nations. Now, unless you also live in Maine and have a horse in this race, kindly go away.

Wanna make it clear that this is an extraordinarily well-crafted game. But at a certain point it just became too much. I still don’t know how I feel. But I do know that Remedy has a new fan who will be there for their next game no matter what. I hope they keep cooking this weird shit.

Alan Wake II (2023)

Need to break this one up, I have too many thoughts. I love the Light Shift and Mind Place mechanics, they’re so sick. The gameplay is tight and satisfying. Gorgeous visuals. Herald of Darkness. The performances are top-notch. But man, it’s just so much Remedy-ism. (CONT)

The Day The Earth Blew Up (2025)

God I miss 2D animated films. Practically every frame of this movie is some kind of gag, the Farmer Jim bit had me in stitches. Looney Tunes characters are timeless in the same way the Muppets are. Fuck you David Zaslav.

Monster Hunter Wilds (2025)

What do you want me to say? It’s Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter is sick. Rey Dau my beloved. I like it more than vanilla World, and it’s only gonna get better from here with the title updates and Master Rank expansion.

Control (2019)

Super fun game, but not without issues. Gorgeous visuals, great combat and abilities, incredibly interesting world, and it has the GOAT Dr. Caspar Darling. Only real issues were navigating the world, and the enemy design making the cool abilities annoyingly restricted.

Haha whoops, forgot to keep doing this. Anyway, Alan Wake. Weird ass, janky, Xbox 360 arcade game. I appreciate it for what it is, but man does it drag on to actually play. Considering what it laid the foundation for, that’s fine by me.

Transformers: King Grimlock (2021)

This one was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The concept is AMAZING, throwing Grimlock into a fantasy world to wreak havoc. But it suffers from being a limited miniseries. The artwork is nice and the worldbuilding is cool, but the plot feels really rushed.

Daredevil: The Man Without Fear

My first introduction to this character outside of the tv show (which I love) and man this was fantastic. The writing feels so dense, the art is splendid, and it almost makes me forget how bad TDKR is. Maybe Frank Miller does have sauce.

Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope

After putting it off for years, I’m glad I finally got around to this. The controls are tight, the presentation is great, but honestly the story is what hooked me the most. The charming characters and a surprising emotional hook really won me over.

Metaphor: Refantazio (2024)

I’ll admit, I had my reservations going in. Persona 5 is very near and dear, but I’ve definitely seen its cracks. Metaphor blew away all those worries with extremely tight mechanics, superb art design, and a story that gripped me FAR more than I ever expected.
