I'd been meaning to read Fern Brady's book since it came out. I doubt it's news to say its very good indeed. But, I read it in less than a day, which is very rare for me these days, and the last chapter had me uncontrollably sobbing.

Modding birthday cards to make silly Christmas cards for my nephews.

The figures were created by me in Inkscape, printed, and carefully-but-roughly cut around.
A card that originally said "Happy Birthday" has had added to it cutout silhouettes of two stacks of birthday presents. Atop each stack stands a cutout silhouette of a figure. These figures are depicted pasting over the word birthday, a piece of paper with "Christmas" badly written on it. In outline, the figures are reminiscent of Laurel and Hardy, or, possibly, Estragon and Vladimir, both bowler-hatted, with one shorter and more portly, and the other an ectomorph.
