Brilliant wee tribute night set up for my Da on the 21st of this month, celebrating his contribution to the music scene across the years.

I know money is scarce, but if you can spare a few quid, then you can donate to Diabetes UK in his memory here:

Had a lovely day down London today for the 'All Together Now' Centre for Collaboration in Community Connectedness (C4) Conference.

Great to get going in my new role and to meet the people I'll be working with to create change in the communities across the UK and Ireland over the next 4 years.

Changed days when you're getting pens as gifts, especially from friends you've travelled the world and sessioned with over 20 years...

In seriousness, I've been very lucky and recieved lots of gifts and well wishes in my last few days in Glasgow. It really means a lot. ❤️

Yesterday was my final day at @glasgowcaledonian.bsky.social. Thank you to the librarians, canteen staff, security, and fellow lecturers and researchers for making my time there so enjoyable. Thanks also to the students who kept it entertaining and I can't wait to see what you go on to achieve. ❤️

First time in about two years where my day hasn't consisted of something work-related. Took a trip round Common Ground Southside. Had some Spanish eggs and a cortada. Noticed some interesting flags flying across Shawlands and Battlefield. Easy to forget to live at times; this was a nice wee morning.

Couple leaving gifts today from people I've got to know through the years at GCU. Across the library, the canteen, and the general staff, from cleaners to security, I've met some amazing humans who I've come to call friends. I'll be sad to leave, and this was such a nice touch.

One week left. ❤️

You'll struggle to see a better video than this all weekend. 🧵

The Source (1994) Barrowlands, sponsored by @redbull.com.

The interviewer is Scots DJ and Presenter Ewan MacLeod, who passed away suddenly in 2020 at just 48 years old (RIP).

Just finished this book that I purchased at its launch last week.

Criminal Justice in Scotland, written by Jamie Buchan, Sarah Anderson, and Katrina Morrison of the SCCJR. A brilliant wee textbook that will be of great use for undergraduate students in particular. One for your criminology classes!

Fantastic series.

Great story, but given that I wasn't too familiar with the Yakuza prior to this, the symbolism and the rituals throughout, however limited they are, gives the show another layer - very well done. After this, I plan to read a lot more about them; really fascinating.

Recommend.

Few better places in the entire world than the North of Scotland on a sunny day. A nice wee weekend and a very relaxing journey there and back. Back to it today but good to get away from the madness of the city for some breathing space. Happy Monday, my friends.

We lost my Dad this morning. It feels like all I've had is bad news lately, but this was quite sudden and especially hard to take. I'm really going to miss him.

Rest in Peace, Da. 💙💚

Big pot from the Gods for a mighty lasagne I'm putting together. Made extra to give old Jeff the neighbour down the stairs some too. What Sundays are all about. ✌️

We've not been back to the moon, but we've had plenty of moral panics since then. Let's hope that by the next time one comes around, we are a bit better at handling it.

On this Fair Monday then, I hope my fellow Glaswegians have a great day. Much love. ✊️❤️

In reality, the moral panic essentially became a racket.

It allowed for additional police funding, it helped to sell papers, it helped conviction rates in the courts, and it provided local politicians and councillors a topic to address during their campaigns.
