Queer trans nerd (he/him). Ex-academic with the student loan debt to prove it. Fannish, sometimes on main.
Would you add me, please?

Perhaps with a line of supplements.

To be clear, I don't doubt Target wants to burnish its image by (re)emphasizing employee "friendliness." It's a non-solution that insults both staff and customers, but it's nothing unusual.

This. Every retail store I've worked at has some version of the 10-foot rule. No employee follows it unless they're new or the district manager's visiting.

In the immortal words of Rupert Giles from Buffy, "I'm down with the new music, and I have the eight tracks to prove it."

It's really fun for the first few seasons. Kinda fell apart later, as many shows do.

Oof, I hope your sense of smell returns.

Years ago (before Covid) I got a nasty sinus infection that warped my sense of smell. My toothpaste smelled like dead fish for a year or more. But it did recover eventually.

“My tax dollars are paying for their steak!”

Yeah, well, my tax dollars are paying for ICE to threaten and abduct my neighbors. Steak sounds better.

Plus, SNAP benefits are generally so low that people just can't buy enough fresh produce or whatever the "healthy" food supposedly is. $80 worth of mac & cheese or cheap frozen pizza goes a lot farther for a month than $80 worth of lettuce, tomatoes, and apples.

It's so infuriating how many left and/or liberal people are drooling over this Nazi shit just because he's a white guy who cosplays being working class (despite his actual class background). The mythologization of the white male working class is toxic.

Did the Totenkopf tattoo also help him access higher education? Is there a scholarship for that?

I'm sure "make an appointment with a social worker to schedule a hearing to get permission to change formula brands" works perfectly. It's not like babies need to be fed more than once a month.

I get kind of mad every time I see someone claiming that testosterone will make your voice drop quickly and profoundly. My voice barely dropped at all. Most of the trans men I know don't have very deep voices.

It sets people up to feel bad about themselves if they're not one of the lucky few.

We have zero plans to put AI in LibreOffice, of course. Our focus is privacy and letting you control your data. Some users want AI features and they can get them via optional extensions made by the community – but we won't put it in the app itself.

I think if Marlowe had lived, he could have been as good as Shakespeare became (and fascinatingly different in attitude). Early Shakespeare can be clunky. And all Marlowe, sadly, is early Marlowe.

I'm a moderate on this. If he goes to therapy for five years to prove that he really is going to persist in being Ezra Klein and can't change, then maybe at the end we can grudgingly give him a little health care. Provided his therapist and a committee of doctors agree, of course

donating food to your local pantry is GREAT and helpful, but money is best imo because we work with vendors/places who are able to give us bulk food and better prices than the average grocery store. if you're debating between giving a pantry canned goods or $20? definitely $20

In a better world, every person with a secret Nazi tattoo would be given a bonus unhideable one, à la Inglourious Basterds.
