For an absolute bargain of £40 on vinted I’ve got the perfect thing to wear when I meet my dear Newcastle supporting friend the night before the cup final week Saturday.

Sunderland fans will know 😂😂😂

After losing four and a half stone, that’s 60lb or 27 kilos today has been a landmark day in clearing out my clothes.

Shorts on the left too big, right now fit.

2 big bags of big clothes to go the charity shop tomorrow, and a bag of labels to sell on Vinted!

😀😀

Just migrated to my new MacBook Pro M4 Pro from the M3 Pro.

Going from 12 core 6 performance 6 efficiency cores to 14 core 10 performance and 4 efficiency is a very noticeable increase in horsepower.

As with my Samsung S95D QD OLED TV I really do love the matte nano texture display ♥️

The main reason I switched from an LG OLED to the Samsung S95D was the anti glare coating.

I watch slightly side on to the right. That vertical halo to the right is a light strip on the left, as well as having a window on the left light reflections was a permanent thing.

No longer.

That’s a sizeable drop year on year, but I think that Tesla sales in Europe are going to drop like a cliff this year, because the vast majority of buyers don’t want to invest in a brand that’s essentially Kübelwagen nowadays.

An odd firmware update coincidence this past 24 hours.

Not only did my LG C2 OLED TV need a major webOS update, but also my Nvidia Shield Pro streamer box& also my Naim Mu-So, neither of which had any kind of updates in years.

All in that one picture, though the Netgear Orbi satellite doesn’t 😂

Wow.

Thanks to having no boiler for 3 weeks of the month I thought my electricity usage for January was gonna be high but not even I was prepared for that high. Luckily I had a big credit on the account which is now wiped out.

The gas usage was also nuts considering it wasn’t working.

My heating ordeal lasted 35 days when my boiler broke down on the 27th December until 2 days ago.

I had hot water via immersion heater from New Year’s Eve and six electric fan heaters throughout the house.

It was horrible.

So nice to feel a warm radiator next to my bed early in the morning 😊

In the era where I used to smoke and not just cigarettes I confess I was an avid cliptomaniac.

Once I held a borrowed clipper lighter in my hand it belonged to me subconsciously.

Though I remember having a box of black & gold clippers this size; my fellow cliptomaniac friends stole them all!

I can still confirm that iOS 18.3 image playground still adds various copious amounts of hair to my shiny bald head and ages me 15 plus years, we’re supposed to look younger Apple.

These truly suck 😂😂😂

Funnily enough just upgraded a stock M4 with a 2tb aftermarket blade only the other day. 250 USD delivered to the UK.

Waiting for the M4 pro blades to become available hopefully soon.

An amusing page from @hossenfelder.bsky.social superb “Lost in Math” I had to share with you guys.

You’ve always got to see the funny side in a 💩 situation, we’ve got years of it to endure 🥴

I can confirm that going out on the lash with your teenage daughters for the first time for our friends 50th is a surreal experience.

Seeing them drinking with young adults I’ve known like they have since they were babies makes me feel rather old.

But very proud 😊 😂

When Nelly our Frenchie goes out she quite often generates spit bubbles.

Not often of this size & quality though 😂

I must admit to being slightly irritated seeing Easter eggs on sale at Aldi on the 10th January.

With outside being so bloody cold overnight you can’t imagine the joy of getting my malfunctioning boiler booting properly yesterday afternoon albeit temporarily.

I heated the place up hot!

I have the parts, just waiting for the engineer to come for the permanent fix.

My feed is showing fellow Bluesky users are deleting their threads accounts.

Fair play to them.

I thought I’d better delete mine but then I saw there’s nothing there anyway 😂😂😂😂

I reckon the only time I used it was via instagram notifications.

I don’t have a Facebook account to even delete 🤩🤪

Having owned and supported computers well past their end of life date, unless they have a specific purpose as in running certain apps they do get far too slow.

My 12 core 2010 Mac Pro with 96gb of ram has been replaced by a Mac mini.

Which has 7x the power using 1/5 of the energy 🤪

Anyone else notice how other people in the house can pack the recycling bins with such care and detail when they get full instead of just emptying them?

🤔🤔🤬🤬

Somebody just edited that gem out 😂😂😂

Part of my going to sleep routine is putting the hand held device down that keeps me awake and replacing it with another device that doesn’t.

A Kindle scribe, with the warm light set to maximum reading a decent book.

Currently reading @hossenfelder.bsky.social excellent “Lost in Math”

The closest I can get to all of that is my Mac mini. Tiny, cheap and insanely powerful.
January 5, 2025 at 10:23 PM
After 2 days of putting my boilers control unit out of the way of the drips from the leak, my boiler has kindly decided to resurrect itself to life.

I have everything crossed 🤞 that it will last until the replacement parts arrive later in the week. We have another cold snap of weather coming 🥶🥶
January 5, 2025 at 10:13 PM
Mine had a load of her little teeth out a few months ago so she’s lost her teethy grin 😁
January 5, 2025 at 8:03 PM
After the boiler got a fault, the immersion heater shorted out Friday and the electricity cable in the street cut our power off yesterday morning 11 hours later we had electricity restored. Thanks #UKPowerNetworks

That’s three bad things in a row, surely no more 🤞🤞😂
