Enjoyable night (other than the result of course) at the Etihad for the England game. H & I were guests of the FA, so thanks to the person who made this happen. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the birthday messages yesterday. I spent the day in my favourite city. Not a bad view for those studying at the library. I couldn’t help but get some research in.

The recent tributes to Ricky Hatton prompted me to dig out this image from October in 2011 when I went with City Academy players & staff, Patrick Viera and Brian Marwood to Ricky's gym in Hyde.... gjfootballarchive.com/2025/09/29/r...

Looking forward to tonight. I’ll be at the launch of another book I’ve contributed to. This is a Nat Football Museum book telling the history of the game via 100 objects. I’ve written about some of the objects and am looking forward to seeing it in print tonight. It’s being launched at the museum.

Went to Fulham FC today… Everyone made me welcome and some great facilities too. Always great to see a historic venue retain its identity while developing for modern day football needs.

Even though MCFC beat Utd 3-0 today it’s been an extremely sad day. RIP Ricky Hatton: gjfootballarchive.com/2025/09/14/r...

I assume it’s referring back to the 31 March 57 meeting (&looking forward to FAC final) when Brum played 5 reserves but were extremely physical in their play.

Spent a few days in Verona seeing the sights such as the local sportswear shop. Nice blue kit! Last time I was here in 2019 they had a @ManCity kit in the window too. Must be popular!
