Dr Who was filmed mostly in a quarry west of London wasn't it, well the Tom Baker ones were, just as Blakes 7 was filmed mostly in a wood in the same area.

I was pretty gobsmacked when this happened on my daily walk from Haymarket to Canning St. I assumed things would get better for pedestrians following the tram works, they literally got worse. The trams were built with no other thought whatsoever to other sustainable travel options.

Eighteen years as #wigtown book festival visitors. We're old hands but still get taken by surprise at how wonderful this festival is. Highlight for me this year was Jenny Lindsay and her talk on Hounded. The book is her story of losing her living, home, security and many friends. An incredible talk

Back in Essex to visit young rellies. A visit to Saffron Walden museum has turned up this uniform Essex Rifle Volunteers and almost identical in style to US army uniform of the same period.

That's a difficult one to work out, I think a lot of cycle journeys are at the expense of public transport. However, TfL are v good at making data public. If you scratch around enough you may find a comparison on their site: tfl.gov.uk/corporate/pu...
