I like it!

Saw her at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Saw DB three times; Ziggy, Thin White Duke, and Serious Moonlight. Sometimes I’m pleased with the age I am!

I took mum to a matinee at the Palladium. In the interval she casually said 'I ain't been here since I saw Judy Garland in the 50s'. Nearly dropped my warm gin.

Fillets of sébaste (a local rock fish type thing) mussels and chorizo. Purée of the season's first Jerusalem artichokes - love the French name for them, topinambour.

We lived in Brussels for 25 years before moving down to France. Loved it + gave us the opportunity for citizenship 🇧🇪

Another place we found just round the corner of our apartment ... Taberna Cofrade Las Merchanas. SO Spanish. A bar/tapas restaurant full of religious artefacts for Easter Week. Became our local.

It's worth googling Thyssen, she's a bit of a character - still going strong. We had a drink in El Pimpi bar (don't eat there, terrible) and she's in photos all over the wall.

Did loads of churches. For a non-religious type I have a thing about crying Madonnas and baroque chapels. Museo Carmen Thyssen was a memorable visit; a massive private collection of Spanish art. A mixed bag for my taste but so glad we went.

Mostly around food unsurprisingly. Going to the main Mercado to buy fish/seafood for our dinner one night. Then back the next day for lunch. A great dinner in the very busy Tapeo de Cervantes. And a posher last-night dinner in Beluga.

We had a great time in Malaga last week.

Came to this late. Did a scrackly pork belly, nothing fancy, just it with apple sauce and all the bits.

I'm a Post Office Tower type too. As a kid in the 60s we lived up Denmark Hill way. I can remember seeing it go up on the skyline. At the same time as St Paul's was covered in square scaffolding to repair blitz damage. Blimey, I'm old.

We're just back from Andalucia where restaurants are empty until at least 9pm. Exhausting!
