Oh it'll never be fixed. It's flaws were baked in permanently when the original plans for the M57 were scaled back. That won't stop the city region and DFT throwing millions upon millions at it though!

They're currently saying it will cost £6bn. If it gets built I'd be surprised if it came in under £10bn. You could build an offshore wind farm large enough to power the whole of Merseyside and give every house a home battery to store energy for billions less!
