My Grandmother passed away in 2020, at the age 96. For as long as I can remember Alice and my Gran were close friends, and more often than not she would come by my Granny’s house for a visit.
Hearing of Alice’s passing and losing another connection to my Granny makes it all the more sad.

I absolutely recommend you learn a little about Alice Maitland, a small-town mom who never thought about politics but wound up breaking the glass ceiling, becoming B.C.'s longest-serving mayor in history. She was 91
