Promoting love and progress in comics and beyond.
While I might run a Spider-Man community, Nova is my favorite Marvel character.

And while one issue is too early to judge a full story, I’ll honestly say Nova: Centurion #1 gave me everything I love about the character.

Another great week for Spider-Man comics. The Spider-Fam Discord gives their spirited endorsement to Spider-Man 94 and Torn, both of which have some compelling issues released today! Remember to support books and creators you love, folks!

It’s also just passé. It’s what every other single, irresponsible protagonist in comics mostly does, when Peter & MJ were breaking that mold decades ago. I don’t want “shallow”. I want substance. I don’t want “love interests”. I want actual LOVE. 4/5
November 5, 2025 at 5:46 PM
I often feel modern ASM is scared to death of embracing the maturity of genuine love - because it’s hard. It’s sacrificial. It’s much simpler to have Peter & MJ just screw around with other people between their messy reconciliations. But it’s just… SHALLOW. 3/5
November 5, 2025 at 5:46 PM
From the start, MJ & Peter were something different and fresh. It was two people full of pain, often capable of hurting each other, but with a love that pushed through suffering. THIS ISN’T THE SAME AS SUPERFICIAL ATTRACTION. It’s DEEPER than a casual hookup. 2/5

My little mini Spider-Man rant of the day; I am bored to tears by the concept of “interchangeable love interests” and the idea that committed relationships lack drama. A reason MJ stands apart is she DID fight with Peter, but it went somewhere. It mattered and challenged them. 1/5

I received my issue a day early. I REALLY enjoyed it. It's got some surprising subversions of what you might expect, backed up by amazing art, some very strong character moments, great twists, and a genuinely painful wait until December.

Yep, this comic still ROCKS.

I’m more optimistic than most about Ultimate Spider-Man’s future.

However, I’d like to present this journey in 4 Parts. I can only laugh.

Welcome back, old friends.

Spider-Man ‘94 may bill itself as a continuation of the show, but it’s got classic Spider-Man comics blood flowing in it as well. It’s a mix of the familiar and fresh, expected and surprising.

So far, I’m enjoying that cocktail.

@jmdematteis.bsky.social AND @straczynski.bsky.social both with a Spider-Man comic releasing this week is spoiling me. Both are considered two of the finest writers of their craft, and I'm excited to see what both have to offer.

As should ANY fan of fun and interesting comics!

I’ll pound the pro-marriage drum for 616 Spider-Man comics any day, and take any chance to boost articles and comic professionals advocating for its return.

We’re 18 years in, and fans are LOUDER than ever to fix “One More Day”. It’s heartwarming to see.

“One More Day is Spider-Man’s worst story. [It] will never get re-evaluated, as some bad stories do in the future, because of the damage done to the Spider-Man comics by it.”

So long as fans speak out and vote with their wallets, things CAN get better.

Ultimate Spider-Man #21 is out this Wednesday! My expectations are raised every issue, so I anticipate this one will be revelatory as well!

Best Spidey book on the market. Support good books and good creators!

“Ultimately, there is no debating that "One More Day" is the greatest misfire in Spider-Man's sixty-three years of comic book appearances.”

Another day, another article calling out OMD as a mistake.

Keep the pressure up, folks!

The world needs more positivity.

If you’re reading this, share something you’ve enjoyed lately.

Bonus points if you tag a writer, artist, or musician who helped bring you that joy.

Current reading material.

I guess I'm in a Batman mood lately.

What I love about Spider-Man and Mary Jane.

Real love isn’t easy. It’s hard. It’s painful. It’s messy. It would be easier to quit and walk away. Simpler to harden your heart and deny your soul.

But then they’d only be half-alive. No matter what, they’ll make it work. Eventually.
September 8, 2025 at 4:33 PM
As a general policy, I avoid going into detail on new comics out of respect for the creative teams and to avoid spoiling it for readers.

That said, I can’t wait to talk about Spider-Man ‘94. @jmdematteis.bsky.social proves he’s still “THAT guy” and Jim Towe nails action scenes.

Highly recommended.

Spider-Man ‘94 is out TOMORROW.

It’s going to be a blast to revisit these characters after such a long break, and with the legendary J.M. DeMatteis penning it.

Who else is excited?!

Hey Spidey fans! IGN covered the wedding event and put up a poll today asking if Spider-Man and Mary Jane should be married or not.

How about we make some noise? Link below:

Hickman continues playing the long game with payoffs over a year later. Ultimate Spider-Man #20 is a fascinating companion piece to USM #4, as we see just how much the last year has changed and challenged these people. They’re not the same as before. Good stuff! Highly recommended!

Always nice to see the Spider-Man Marriage called out as one of the BEST pivots the book ever took for it and its characters.

We also have a great pro-marriage Discord community if you’re a fan of it too!

I'm reminded that today is the release of the 2nd printing of Ultimate Spider-Man #18.

I know I'm a broken record, but USM has proven to be a very special comic to me and many others, and it comes highly recommended.

Grab a copy if you haven't (or want another!)

Two great issues of Spider-Man are out today. Two good issues with Mary Jane as well. Both come highly recommended.

Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Sixteen and Ultimate Spider-Man #19 are on sale NOW.

Support good books!

Having gotten my copy early, I can safely say that Ultimate Spider-Man continues to knock it out of the park. Definitely grab this one!

If you're loving the book and the Spider-family, we also have a great Discord for sharing that love!
