I want to encourage everyone to endure through this moment until reasonable people can take power again and we demand they do better, but this is just horrible stuff being done by this regime to good everyday people trying to do the right thing over and over again.

Every legitimate governmental agency, organization and institution must do everything in their power to adhere to the rule of law & refuse to degrade their standards or community standards. Anyone illegally or illegitimately helping the regime do illegal or violent shit must be held accountable.

I can’t fucking stand Pat McAfee but he’s far more competent at his job than Pete Hegseth and all of McAfee’s cultural crimes combined don’t measure the impact of any of the war crimes Hegseth has committed.

One of the most painful things with the information bubbles and propaganda networks that feed them is how incentivize and reward some of these bad actors for abandoning reality. Its so toxic and perniciously destructive to our capacity to have shared reality.

Trumps second term is much more terrifying than his first, and there is no greater example of that than the degree to which they have compromised the military. Esper shut down BS talk of bombing antiquities because that was illegal. Hegseth executes people for internet content & culture war fodder.

I agree. I do also want to say that murdering shipwrecked people is such an unambiguous war crime—it’s important. They attempt to obscure and cloud the truth and rationalize crimes, especially for RW info bubbles. Every unambiguous thing is important to help break obvious truths into those bubbles.
