Spring approaching. Peach and pluot trees in bloom. Yellow tree is one I planted from seed - still need to figure out what it is. Has like seed pods that look like snow peas.

I think the peach trees are about five years old now, but they have been fruiting since they were two. Another fast growing tree is mulberry. I think this one is about four years old (from cutting)

Seeds to trees. I will never stop being amazed by the potential of a seed. In a few short years I have two wonderful peach trees that give me delicious fruit. What kinds of trees have you planted from seed?

Over the years I've found that I let nature do more of the gardening. These gaillardia (blanket flower) self-seed, as do gaura, red sage, delphinium, and poppies. What flowers "volunteer" in your yard? 🌱

Greetings. Steve in California. Passion is my food forest - growing as much as I can in a small urban yard. Gave up the lawns five years ago in favor of trees. So far have Avocado, Cherry, Fig, Peach, Pear, Plum, Pluot, Pomegranate, Lemon, Mango, and Mulberry. Need help for my addiction 🌱🙂
