It never really hits as hard as it needs to from someone else, but I think you're talented and admirable and thoughtful, and I'm pissed on your behalf at whoever has recklessly sown these seeds of doubt in your life. Your past doesn't dictate your future, and you are as valid as anyone else.

I just kind of assume the way I am (antisocial, bitter pessimism, no tolerance for bullshit) is going to push most people away and try to focus on people who can hang. If they took off because of you and you didn't say or do anything to them, that's their loss. Not that it makes the feelings easier.

I think it's fine to try to quantify your qualities and gauge other peoples' impressions of you if it's done in a healthy manner. There's no big horse surrounding the trend to my knowledge, I was just using this excellent post to articulate why I'm not doing it even if I'm interested in the answers.

I think that's a worthwhile comparison! as a lark I tried to put it into words in my head when you asked and the language and layers of extrapolation came off a little like someone describing what a tarot card may represent. audience interpretation reigns supreme.
