Finished my first playthrough of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance on Switch. Not perfect, but I enjoyed it a lot. It leans more Metroidvania than classic arcade Shinobi, and once I got used to the controls, it really clicked. A solid return to form, can’t wait for SEGA’s next one. #shinobiartofvengeance

I got a Chinese FPGA NES off AliExpress which has a fpga ppu and a clone cpu. It has nes controller ports, famicom controller port. VGA, HDMI, and RGB. I swapped out the clone CPU for the official NES CPU, I salvaged from a broken NES. The cpus are plug n play, no solder. I'm very pleased.

I had a left Joy-Con from my original Switch that had been dead since around 2020, I chose to bring it back to life and pair it with a “defective, untested” right Joy-Con I picked up. The left one wasn’t too bad, but the right one took three times as long to fix. They work, and I’m proud of myself.

You know what’s sad? Nintendo releases Donkey Kong Bananza, yet Microsoft hasn’t released a new Banjo-Kazooie game since 2008’s Nuts & Bolts. They keep missing that opportunity. Just imagine how things might have changed if the Xbox One had launched with new Perfect Dark and Banjo-Kazooie games.
