They’re killing people as a twitter joke. It’s depraved. Can’t let yourself lose the capacity to be appalled and disgusted and outraged by this.

It’s almost as if people don’t make enough money, don’t make a living wage, are unable to save money, don’t have reasonable access to healthcare and are one semi-disastrous life event away from total bankruptcy.
I wonder why this could be?🤔

This is wildly insane. First, station wagons pretty much suck. Second, Fuel efficiency & emission standards have reduced key air pollutants by 78%. I’m convinced that the GOP essentially want you all to suffer and die while they watch from…their gilded ballrooms? Their Hawaiian bunkers?
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

An 18yo US citizen, surrounded by eight masked, armed agents of the state, taken into custody, not read his rights, not offered a chance to contact a lawyer, proof of citizenship ignored, handcuffed so tightly he later required medical attention.

Profoundly, profoundly anti-American shit.

THIS, 💯
I hope folks realize that between Trump, Kushner, Hegseth, Witkoff, Noem, RFK, Jr., Kash Patel, and Tulsi Gabbard, this country is almost entirely undefended.
Q: Have you heard this audio that Bloomberg has of Witkoff coaching the Russians on how to appeal to you?

TRUMP: That's a standard thing. He's gotta sell this to Ukraine, he's gonna sell Ukraine to Russia. That's what a dealmaker does. I haven't heard it but I heard it was standard negotiation.

I would argue that the fealty that Trump demands is a fealty Trump expects his political appointees to also demand, so that it supports and implements the broader authoritarianism Trump demands.
Trump tweeted a pic of a West Point plaque, but it notes that the US military places loyalty to the Constitution and the law over one man. Is anything more central to Trump’s presidency than his demand for fealty to him over the Constitution and the law?

The GOP tried to abolish the ACA over 8 years ago & had nothing to replace it with if they had succeeded. Over 8 years later, they still have NOTHING. And why is that? Because they know that whatever they choose to do, it will be regressive, expensive & will ultimately kill people.

I no longer use "moron"

So I will not say that a person—a Fed governor!!—who claims that immigration has been a major source of housing inflation is "a moron."

Instead I'll say that he is "uninformed" about home-construction biz, median rent or purchase prices from immigrants, etc

Also, a bigot.

Never forget that Trump endorsed Roy Moore in 2017 when it was clear that Moore sexually assaulted minors…& that 651,972 people voted for him anyway, barely losing by only 1.7%. The GOP is thick with craven hypocrisy & sin.
Megyn: The law recognizes no difference between raping an 8-year-old and raping a 15-year-old. Both victims are underage and therefore unable to provide consent. And you are an awful person for using that distinction to explain away the rape of underage girls. You wouldn't do that for Bill Clinton.

Trump is on live TV saying he wants to rig elections so Democrats can’t return to power. The most corrupt, anti-American administration in our history.
Trump: "They're gonna make DC a state and they're gonna make Puerto Rico a state. So now they pick up two states, four senators. They're gonna pick up electoral votes. It's gonna be a very, very bad situation. Now, if we do what I'm saying, they'll most likely never obtain power."

Mamdani’s win is great, there’s no denying that, but it’s important to remember that there’s no other city in the U.S. like NYC, Mamdani ran a great campaign, Trump-ism is unpopular, Eric Adams was a disaster and Andrew Cuomo is literally the Crypt Keeper. His win is by no means a template.

It’s uncomfortably reassuring that Johnson is accusing Dems of standing up for things that are actually on their radar and not just, y’know, straight up lies.
Mike Johnson: "Imagine a scenario where they were in charge and they didn't have the filibuster. We would have nationalized elections, they would infringe on our 2A rights, they'd pack the Supreme Court, and they'd make Puerto Rico and DC states."

I could be wrong, possibly becuz Dem consensus & messaging is a gray area, but I’ve understood this to have always been the case. And that this has always been about political weaponization, lies & racism on behalf of the GOP, right-wing pundits & a radicalized base.
i do think Dems should moderate on immigration in the sense that Dems should redesign our immigration policy to work like people think it works: you wait for a while (but not forever) to get into the country and then you wait for a while (but not forever) to become a citizen.
