Which correctly identifies the problem, the solution is to change the rules that makes it os only these type of apts are profitable to build.

Alternatively you could provide subsidies to tip projects that would normally be unprofitable into profitability (you'd just need to pay the difference)

A lot of folks tend to be bad at seeing the counterfactual.

The counterfactual of "no luxury appt" is not "a super affordable housing" (like Khrushchevka), the counterfactual is generally "no new housing"

building housing reduces the cost of housing, period, whether it's luxury or professional class or "affordable." when demand exceeds supply, people who can afford better settle for something less, pushing everyone else further down. just build housing! JUST. BUILD. HOUSING

I mean we had a similar thing in France, where the PS has been mostly repudiated by a lot of folks from the "left" in favor of LFI.

I consider myself "social democrat", and am surprised at the complete lack of pragmatism from most of the French left who reject any plan not involving a revolution

Folks can do PhDs outside of the US, there is still funding there (granted it's not huge), immigration is not completely broken (though it's great nowhere), you don't need to speak the local language, and it's a great opportunity to broaden their horizons

We have some in Paris too ;)

Hey ! We did the same to Sarkozy (still fighting appeals) and Chirac (pretended to be senile in order to get leniency) in France :)

Also note that Voltaire actually never said "I disagree with what you say, but I will fight for your right to say it"

Calling him weak is mostly a way of coping.
If he's weak you can not take him seriously, because things will fall apart soon -> you don't need to take any painful action today
If he's strong, and captures more power -> you need to act now before he gets even more entrenched

I'll be honest I'm proud of myself if I can make it 5 minutes without swearing, "pause words" are very low on my priority list.

Also it's just plain silly to expect us to focus on decorum instead of exactitude when talking science

Damn it took me a while to notice that the graph was rubish ^^

You get maps pretty soon, plus after a few minutes you kinda know where you are

Yup !
It's great, but the difficulty is a bit higher than hollow knight (it kinda starts at midgame difficulty)

Yeah.... we suffer from a weird thing where we "need" to have a different French word for any English stuff, even if there is the same word in French (the mythical creature is the same and spelled the same...)

We have "brouhaha" instead of "buzz", which no one actually uses ^^
