With a new season about to drop in #AFKJourney I wanna take a moment to highlight how well the game does comedy despite having a mostly dark tone for its story. The twins' natural deadpan amazing for one-liners in the last major quest. Kudos to the original writers and the English localization team.

Started watching Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun recently, and it's been hilarious whether subbed or dubbed!

While of course the five tackle threats as a group, I love that each member is presented with significant individuality. Not only the visual themeing after each animal they use as a basis for their powers, but separate transformation music and movements based on distinct styles of dance.

Zakuro serves as Pudding's inverse: someone a few years older than Ichigo, Mint, and Lettuce who is fiercely independent and aloof. With the world's strongest poker face and some character details only alluded to in flashback, her combination of strength and mystery draws you in.

Pudding also had a nice bit of development, breaking out of her early role as hyperactive comic relief. I like the dichotomy of her being physically and emotionally the youngest member, but also be someone who's been forced to grow up faster to compensate for her late mother and absentee father.

Lettuce is also Ami-coded on a surface level, but what makes her unique is a subplot woven through the length of the series. She's got a lot of personal growth from someone who's kind of a bad judge of character to someone who can truly understand other people and how they feel.

There's a strong sense of familiarity one will get, especially if they're fans of 90's Sailor Moon, when it comes to the character dynamics of the main cast. The Ichigo/Mint light antagonism definitely has shades of Toei's take on Usagi/Rei. Their running jokes are a highlight of the series' comedy.

There's a strong sense of familiarity one will get, especially if they're fans of 90's Sailor Moon, when it comes to the character dynamics of the main cast. A few days ago I finished watching the 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew anime, and I really enjoyed myself.
While it has some noticeable growing pains in the first fourth of its runtime, but once it hits it's stride that energy carries through all the way to the finale.

It's been a good morning in Honse Gacha. My latest Daiwa Scarlet run got her the Triple Tiara and beyond, almost reaching B+. Also got a Mihono Bourbon for the first time on a lucky 10-pull. Ranked-up Grass Wonder, as well.

Finally found some time to check out the first two episodes of Princession Orchestra after they got posted to YouTube, and I'm very conflicted. Non-proofread machine-translated subs aside, I feel like what I've seen falls into an unfortunate "worst of both worlds" conundrum.

It's a good day in Uma Musume. Got my first URA Finale full clear with Taiki Shuttle, and got Mejiro McQueen from a ticket earned by that same clear. Still trying for Mihono Bourbon before her banner's up.

For anyone voting in the #va11 #specialelection I'd urge you to vote for Irene Shin. You also wouldn't go wrong with a vote for Dan Lee or Leo Martinez. If anything, just leave Walkinshaw and the more hawkish candidates like Papanu in the dust.

Generally happy with the selection of acts that made it through Semifinal 1. I think the best acts of the night were Portugal, the Netherlands, and Sweden. Coincidentally, I voted for all 3!
