The Next One Here's what's going to happen next. Somewhere, right now, a trans person is teaching a class, or coaching a team, or working at a library, or providing healthcare. They're doing their job. They're probably good at it. And at some point, someone is going to have a problem with them. Maybe a parent, maybe a student, maybe a coworker. The problem won't really be about job performance. The problem will be that they're trans. That person, or someone connected to them, will take their grievance to social media. If they're lucky, Libs of TikTok will pick it up. Or Turning Point. Or one of the other accounts that have built massive followings by turning trans people into content. The post will frame the trans person as a predator, or a groomer, or a bully, or a tyrant. It won't matter what actually happened. The framing is the point. Then the calls will start. To the school board, to the administration, to the HR department. Local news will cover the "controversy." A state legislator will demand an investigation. The institution, desperate to make the problem go away, will put the trans person on leave. Maybe they'll be fired outright. Maybe they'll resign because the harassment makes it impossible to do their job. Either way they're gone. And then the person who started it all will go on Fox News. They'll get a GoFundMe. Maybe a speaking gig at a conservative conference. If the story is big enough, if it goes viral enough, they might get something more. A podcast. A book deal. A center with their name on it. This is not a guess. This is a pattern. We've watched it happen over and over again, and we will keep watching it happen until the institutions that capitulate to these campaigns start recognizing them for what they are: coordinated attempts to purge trans people from public life, dressed up as individual controversies.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD FOR THE END OF SNAP

This is important. This came to me overnight through a group organizing in the PNW. Please consider adopting these strategies where you live. YOU WILL SAVE LIVES. SNAP runs out 11-1.

Start a block/neighborhood channel on Signal and get to work.
We refuse to let neighbors go hungry while politicians posture. We can stand up a street-level safety net in days. Neighborhood plan: "Block Food Steward" model One steward per block. A volunteer with a single shelf or 2-3 totes of staples who coordinates quiet, no-shame help. Starter shelf (suggested): 10 lb rice • 10 lb dry beans • 8 lb pasta 12 cans vegetables • 12 cans protein (tuna/chicken/beans) 2 large peanut butter • 2 shelf-stable milk packs • 1 cooking oil Baby formula (sealed), diapers (mixed sizes), wipes, soap, toothpaste How it works: 1. Steward posts once to the block group: "I've got a small shelf of staples. DM 'BAG' no questions asked." 2. Keep a simple in/out tally; rotate oldest first; replace what's used. 3. If demand spikes, steward pings the block: "NEED: 6 cans, 2 pastas, diapers size 4." 4. For larger needs, handoff to a local food bank. Privacy and dignity first—no photos, no public names. Comment to volunteer: STEWARD - [Your Street Name] Comment to donate: DONOR - [Item or $ pledge] Need help? DM me the word BAG. No shame. Volunteer at food banks this week. Show up for a 2-hour shift. Sorting, bagging, intake, there's a role for everyone. Donate smart. Shelf-stable staples first; ask for priority items before dropping off. Be kind to clerks. They didn't create this mess. They're catching the fallout. Hunger is not a negotiating tactic. Contact your state and federal reps today and demand: An immediate SNAP/WIC bridge with retroactive benefits. No more hostage-taking of basic nutrition assistance. De-link food aid from unrelated fights. Fix the pipeline, then debate policy. No politics at the pantry door. We help first, argue later. No purity tests. If someone says they're short on food, we feed them. Dignity and privacy. DM, porch drop-offs, initials only. Safety: sealed formula only, check dates, store cool/dry, pet-safe. The Timeline? Tonight: Name stewards; seed each shelf with a starter kit. Within 48 hours: Every block has at least one steward, a group text, and a small reserve.

I spoke to people getting food at a food bank and here are some things I learned from those in need: 1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box. They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter which is hard to get from regular food banks. 2. Boxed milk is a treasure, as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of. 3. Everyone donates pasta sauce and spaghetti noodles. 4. They cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies and soup unless you put a can opener in too or buy pop tops. 5. Oil is a luxury but needed for Rice a-Roni which they also get a lot of. 6. Spices or salt and pepper would be a real Christmas gift. 7. Tea bags and coffee make them feel like you care. 8. Sugar and flour are treats. 9. They fawn over fresh produce donated by farmers and grocery stores. 10. Seeds are cool in Spring and Summer because growing can be easy for some. 11. They rarely get fresh meat. 12. Tuna and crackers make a good lunch. 13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef. 14. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly but usually not sandwich bread. 15. Butter or margarine is nice too. 16. Eggs are a real commodity. 17. Cake mix and frosting makes it possible to make a child's birthday cake. 18. Dishwashing detergent is very expensive and is always appreciated. 19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury and women will cry over that. 20. Everyone loves Stove Top Stuffing. In all the years have donated food at the Holidays, I bought what I thought they wanted, but have never asked. I am glad I did. If you are helping a Family this Christmas, maybe this can help you tailor it more. It does for me!

I could get to safety and make sure nothing happened, thanks to them. 3rd frame shows the antifa logo. text reads : it's an undercover antifa who told me Proud boys were planning to crash a library talk I was giving. they still did it, but we could prepare accordingly and the talk went as planned. 4th frame shows a protest with a "good night white pride" banner. text reads : it's a whole squad of anti- fascists who showed up to keep a neo-nazi group at bay from a family event I was speaking at. they stayed until the end to accompany participants to their car or all the way to their home. the police was aware of the threat but didn't do sh*t.
