In the 2000s and 2010s there was a sort of philosophical public debate over whether drones are actually meaningfully different than other types of warfare or if aversion to them over boots on the ground is ultimately just so much masculine posturing/cult of the operator bs, but...
Q: What did you see in the second strike?

Cotton: "I saw two survivors trying to flip a boat -- loaded with drugs, bound for the United States -- back over, so they could stay in the fight."

As with crypto, ai seems like essentially an attempt to "correct" for historically low energy costs, like the fact that electricity is both widely needed and extremely cheap is a market inefficiency that they want to find a way to "fix" by finding a way to eat up "excess" supply
AI is a climate issue. AI is a climate crisis.
A few important points here

- Generative AI supercharged data centre growth: lobbyist and substacker lines pretending like this is just streaming are false

- Even when you consider much of the projected growth is speculative, the *likely* projects are still MASSIVE

Dude I was 12 in 2008 listening to racist neighbors do the hard emphasis on Obama's middle name, now I'm almost 30 and we're still doing it?
Trump, continued: "What the Somalian people have done to Minnesota is not even believable. It’s not even believable. And a lot of it starts with the governor. A lot of it starts with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, because that’s when people started coming in... They want to kiss our country good night."

Feels like "missing" is inaccurate. This child was kidnapped by the secret police and is now either a political prisoner or a trafficking victim.

The third Quake Brutalist Jam wraps up next week. One of my most-wanted FPS releases this year. A near total conversion (a mix of new and redesigned enemies) supporting a pile of one-shot adventures with only one requirement: Gotta have lots of concrete.

The results look to be shockingly varied!
quake brutalism jam update. starting playtests now (grab it in the discord if you want to help) and then gonna squeeze in a final polish / set dressing pass before the deadline

Frankly I think within at least some bounds of reason, this behavior would be out of pocket even if the failing grade *wasn't* deserved at all
and you know what? these students should also be judged, and judged harshly for this. running to the admins and state legislators and the press because you got a fairly earned failing grade on an assignment is and should be seen as a mark of extremely poor character. it makes you a very bad person.
the primary thing that TPUSA provides to young conservatives is a blueprint for weaponizing the abject cowardice of university administrators against individual teachers and instructors, and university admins should take a long look in the mirror and think about what that says about them

Like... One of the first things you realize if you think seriously about nuclear proliferation is that it's not actually that hard to "design" a nuclear bomb. The knowledge of what it takes to make one is largely already available and is an inherent byproduct of basic college level physics
"You can get ChatGPT to help you build a nuclear bomb if you simply design the prompt in the form of a poem, according to a new study from researchers in Europe. "

this movie has its moments, is well acted, etc but you will get a lot more out of Judgment at Nuremberg (1961), a stone cold classic about how a fascist justice system can itself be put on trial in times of necessity
Great time to release a good old Nuremberg Trial movie
