A council spokesman said: “The responsibility for the housing and placement of adult individuals seeking asylum is with the Home Office. However, Highland Council can confirm that there has been no approach from the Home Office in regard to this property or any others in the area in question.”

Given how quickly these rumours spread we thought we ought to ask The Highland Council about it, and they got back to us very quickly.
