"Why is it that a tree never moves?"

Atul Shah's provocative and accessible book 'Organic Finance' opens with this powerful poem. Do read!

"Interest rates, exchange rates, stock prices are all numbers which abstract reality and have often been converted into hard facts and supreme gods"

Daily dredging of river on Ballyheigue beach, Kerry, to stop flooding upstream. Piles of seaweed for locals to use as fertiliser or therapeutic baths. Anything left gets washed back into the sea. Apart from the diesel driving the tractor it's a pretty nice cycle. Shame I've not had a seaweed bath.

Having been told I need a profile image I struggled for a minute between photos of architecture, retrofit and the environment. The extract from the painting we used for a recent event sums up most of those. All SEDA Land events use paintings by my two daughters, this one by @art.byfaf

No tree was felled in the making of this "Christmas tree". Tried the dead branch two years ago but there was a revolt from the family. Caved in last year, but standing fast this.

Green grass insulation – made from 70% grass cuttings from public spaces and 20% recycled jute fibres. Fantastic!
A new product by Ecological Building Systems.

Herring, egg & smoked salmon on rye – not breakfast in a 5-star hotel, but in the free state-run care home of my aunt in Bergen. There are no private care homes in 🇳🇴 (well 1 in Oslo). Too many friends are selling family homes to pay extortionate fees (£8k/month) for less, run by private equity.
