I just fundamentally fail to see what the intended role for these is. We’re just fielding tomahawks that are worse in every conceivable way.

We’re not Iran. Why do we want to fight like Iran.

Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.

BREAKING: ‘This hurts’: UNL eliminates 4 programs despite faculty, student pleas
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln eliminates the Earth and atmospheric sciences 8-0, educational administration 7-1, statistics 7-1, textiles, merchandising and fashion design 7-1 programs.

This makes sense. Science requires observation, disconfirmation and interrogation of previous hypotheses informed by new information or concepts. LLMs aren't capable of any of this. Just create a confirmation death spiral incapable of referencing the real world.

Schmitt’s argument is unintentionally revealing.

The “color revolutions” were non-violent, pro-democracy political movements aimed at ending autocratic regimes in former Soviet bloc nations.

If the Democrats are leading a “color revolution,” then Trump is an autocrat & Schmitt is pro-autocrat.
Sen. Eric Schmitt: "This is the language of a color revolution where you're calling on military men and women to disobey orders."

Billboard got access to Suno’s investment pitch deck.

It revealed that Suno has spent $32 million on compute, and $2,000 on training data.

Let that sink in.
