One of my novels is being used to train META AI. Just more billionaires squeezing the juices of other people’s hard work to keep the oligarchical machine operating without permission.

“Sticking it to the man only hurts small businesses.” Exactly. That’s how they became “the man.” By making you reliant on them. Resistance to that hurts. It sucks. That’s not the fault of boycotting, but the fault of billionaires using you as a shield.

Saying a boycott on Amazon only hurts small businesses is more reason to boycott Amazon. They’ve skirted anti-trust laws for so long, they’ve made your small business hostage to them. We only break free of that if we stop allowing them to.

Since there’s an economic blackout today, I’ll only be using this platform. Problem is I’m still new to it, so I’ll probably be talking to myself. But that’s okay. It won’t be the first time.

What’s your most anticipated horror release of 2025?

Hey don’t buy my books on Friday. Seriously, please don’t. If you really want a copy of one of them of all of them or some of them, message me and I’ll accidentally give them to you for free.

Brian Asman’s new fiction Nostrum Diana came out on DreadPop today, and it’s a doozy. Dark fiction at its finest. (Artwork by Jaime Stearns) www.patreon.com/dreadpopmagazine

Someone dropped a bunch of puzzle pieces on next week’s DreadPop author. I’ll slowly start taking pieces off so you can guess who it is.

A bunch of folks woke up with this story, and based on the messages I’ve received, they are very happy about it. Chapman’s Dispense is a break up story, a cursed object story, and it’s a story with teeth. Lots of teeth. Teeth everywhere.

Tomorrow DreadPop Magazine launches its story a week with Dispense by Clay McLeod Chapman. Get in now so you can be there for the magazine’s first ever story. And this is a hell of a tale to launch with. Here’s a little sneak peak at the story’s accompanying artwork (by Alexandrea Christianson).

My brand of horror tends to touch on grief, mental illness, and addiction. You could argue I’m writing what I know, but I think I’m writing what I don’t know. It’s what I live with, but I’m still trying to make sense of it. I’m asking myself questions I often don’t have the answer to.
