I love gardening, reading, and...okay, escaping into my own quiet world. (I work with customers all day. I am done peopling at 3 p.m. DONE.)
Any little thing I can do for the resistance...I am all in.
🌱 Happy Monday!
First Iris bloom of the season. This is 'Medici Prince'

I chose today to cancel both my Kindle Unlimited subscription and Prime membership.

I told my (25 year old) son where to find the Christmas wrapping paper.
I offered him some scotch tape.
Tells me he's got it handled.

It took me 5 minutes to take these pictures because I was laughing so hard, I couldn't hold the camera steady.

🌱 Purple Coneflowers
These provide lovely winter interest. (Two questions when I buy plants: Is it drought tolerant? Will it look good in our six months of winter?)
Only four more months of rest time. I've already been buying plants for spring and the seed catalogs have started to arrive!

Giving you a follow back.

Riders of the Mahkota Reconciliation and Healing Ride (Dakota 38+2) came to town yesterday. The "feels like" temps were below zero. It is an honor for our town to host them.

Good morning all my Bluesky friends!

We lost a beloved shepherd 2 years ago and we still miss him terribly. 💔 He also lived to be over 14 years old.

Since I can't actually get out and garden...
It's time for gardening books!
Here's the stash I've collected so far. And the library is having a book sale this week so maybe I'll find some more.

Anywhere you see green, it's native 🤓

Figwort! This is Late Figwort (I also have the Early). Everyone should have these native plants in their garden. Very high in nectar. Pollinator magnets!
Add some height in your borders. My Late Figwort is well over 6' tall. Great winter interest too.

The view from my kitchen window.
I've missed seeing the Red-bellied Woodpeckers. They only seem to come around in the winter.
Gonna give the Blue Jays a little competition at the feeder.

The Lamb's Ears ('Helen von Stein' or 'Big Ears') really stand out in the November garden, especially when they have some frost on them.
So soft and velvety! I have a hard time walking through the garden without stopping to pet them. My little fuzzy lambies! (Don't worry. I haven't named them. Yet)

🌱I love Purple Giant Hyssop! (So do the bees!)
It will provide interest and motion all winter long.

Foggy morning. Loved being out in the quietness. The only sounds were water dripping off the trees and geese flying overhead as they head south for the winter.
I am ready to face another day.
