Absolutely blessed haul at Amoeba today. Kousokuya is one of those bands I always keep an eye out for never expecting to find. Perfect rainy day brain melt atmosphere.

5. Working on a little zine
Black and white image with two rounded boxes: a shorter one on top with the name of the game Anthology of the Killer, and a taller one with art in it. The art shows BB from Anthology of the Killer running away from the murderous musician known as the Weepster. He has a knife and a small microphone and god knows what fate awaits BB if she gets caught. Thoughts and prayers, BB! Also they're on a checkered floor and the wall is some sort of black and white curtain that could be mistaken for cake.

Tammy from Anthology of the Killer depicted in a paper cutout with a blue drippy body and a green glow against a dark background with some light bouncing off of it because I do not know how to do lighting. 3. This is the first time I've picked up the tablet in months! It's that horrible little creature from Deltarune in his natural habitat.
A crusty sort of electronic drawing of Spamton from Deltarune. Spamton's head is floating with pink/yellow glasses firing an array of barely distinguishable blue eggs known as pipis, but labeled as pinis. Giant tilted text with the words [BIG SHOT] are to his left. In the top right corner is the same image mirrored and smaller. In the bottom left corner is the original image mirrored and smaller and also flattened. In the background there is a ghostly transluscent copy of the original drawing facing the correct way. There are several bars running through the box made from tiling a section of Spamton's face. The background is green. The first image run through the deep fryer to punish Spamton for his sins. There is now a green and black square half tone haphazrdly mixed into the green of the background. Several more spamtons and versions of this image are distorted and distributed throughout the image. The [BIG SHOT] have been encased in several layers of crust and pasted over parts of the image.

2. I really really loved Anthology of the Killer so I am not sure why I drew this
BB from Anthology of the Killer set against a red sort of red tiled curtainy/bacony backdrop. BB stands to the left with pink hair, a yellow bow, yellow skin and an orange dress with black polka dots. To the right there is a squat sort of bestial BB consisting of a BB's head and hair stretched out a little and put on four tiny stick legs. May god have mercy on her soul.

1. These are some of my first experiments when I bought a tablet. I haven't used it as much as I've wanted (been practicing with pen and marker), so I have very little of this, but it is the easiest stuff to share! I'm hoping to play more with it soon.
Some kind of yellow goblin thing wearing a brown tarp of some variety on some green hills staring at some kind of moon. Cursed digitalart of a strange skull-like thing wrapped in different textured brushes and with a sort of grid in the background.

Mother 3 is my usual answer and forever an important piece of my heart, but I want to highlight 1000xResist from this year. The whole game, but this quoted moment in particular:

Their dialogue goes: BB: Someone behind a desk is enjoying his own voice while pretending to talk to me. I carefully deflect all queries. Rule #1 of making a zine is never to talk to the police. Sitting Policeman: You an trust me, I'm the cool policeman. Check out these yo-yo tricks. Did you ever hear of a band named Fugazi?? You look like someone I once strangled in a dream. Does somethign smell like blood in here or is it just me?? Ha ha ha. Ignore that - I'm quirky but I get the job done. Protagonist BB wanders through a museum of moral art with her friend Claude, continuing an ongoing conversation. Their dialogue: BB: So what happened to him? Claude: Well, he was eventually arrested for eating a woman. But that doesn't mean his work has nothing to teach us. BB reads a deranged fan letter amidst a pile of what seem to be similarly deranged writings. The letter reads: "The 'ZINE' says that it's about history and so she reads it but it is not history it is a bad dream and a horror story in which all the names and faces she reveres from books and statues reappear instead as torturers and killers as toadies and functionaries of a charnel house and as she reads she feels as though the beautiful history she adores and worships has been replaced by a lake of blood that has no bottom and she and everyone she knows is sinking in the lake and so is her house. "It is at this point in the comic strip that Mary Worth has a 'grand realisation'." BB reads on silently with an extended "................." A ghoulish man in a mouse costume and robes with a spiral at the center, wearing a crown and a holding a wand monologues to the screen. He is apparently Mappy from the 1983 NES video game. His dialogue reads: Mappy: Call my Mappy! You may know me from my popular 1980s videogame career. Mappy: I retured early and bought a big house. Mappy: But nobody wanted to visit my big house, or listen to my increasingly hammy and truculent political opinions. Mappy: And so I say there with the lights off, watching people drive past on the road outside my house, and imagining what it would feel like to shoot them in their cars. Mappy: Until inevitably in this way I began to develop a Grand Theory of History.
