This objection is simply appalling. To think, a school where kids gather, learn, and play for 6-7 hours a day during normal day hours will “disturb the peace”.

Today I just feel tired of everything. The news of the day feels like a footnote. I’ve a thousand things I want to do, but the effort of doing them feels insurmountable. I start, but I don’t feel the joy of doing… only frustration and despondence.

Finally finished refurbishing the BBQ - unfortunately the maker is out of business, and the replacement burners didn’t quite fit - so had to do some makeshift fabrication.

For the first time in my life, I’m getting frustrated with people misspelling my name in a professional capacity. It’s not mispellings based on hearing it - It’s colleagues, misspelling my name in a 1 page document where my name is already present and spelled correctly in several places.

Running headlong into the challenges of the lack of options to assist people with mental health issues who do not want that kind of support - and dealing with how those issues impact everyone around them.

Random thought of the day - I would really love to hear a men’s choir, a big group of singers, in a stone cathedral with all the echoing, singing an acapella version of Sabaton’s Soldier of Heaven.

With Graham closed off and no longer a bus corridor - why paint the concrete? I appreciate wanting to improve the athletics, but Dig it up, Plant some trees, and turn it into an actual greenway in the heart of the city. Leave the sidewalks for accessibility, but give us a little natural oasis.

Been reading the Red Rising series by Pierce Brown, despite some differences of opinion between Mr. Brown and Terry Goodkind with respect to their perspective on Karl Marx - I’m getting some serious Sword of Truth crossed with Song of Ice & Fire (Game of Thrones) vibes here.

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.

A couple of weeks ago, my eldest daughter’s friends labelled us as the cool parents. Today for my younger daughters friend we are the safe ones. This evening my two daughters went and rescued my youngest daughter’s friend from a parent who was drinking again. I’m glad to be a safe place for them.

Obby Khan is the new leader of the Manitoba Conservatives. He was also the face of the anti-trans “Parental Rights” campaign and the abhorrent “Stand Firm” campaign to reject the landfill search on the basis of cost. This is a man who punches down. He is not a leader, he is a coward. #mbpoli
