I don’t think I noticed before that Arondir was (sort of) armed when he meets Adar, but doesn’t attack when he realizes Adar was probably an Elf. Maybe he doesn’t want to be guilty of kinslaying?

And Halbrand wanting to just stay there and be crafty! I love how this season teases the idea of Sauron considering repentance. It makes his fall all the more interesting.

One thing I love about RoP is that it shows elves in the Silmarillion way—full of pride, ambition, making rash decisions. I mean sure, by the Third Age, elves had become more wise & detached (as shown in Hobbit/LOTR films), but they were way more “human” in the beginning!

One thing I love about RoP is that it shows elves in the Silmarillion way—full of pride, ambition, making rash decisions. I mean sure, by the Third Age, elves had become more wise & detached (as shown in Hobbit/LOTR films), but they were way more “human” in the beginning!

I have Beowulf in my TBR—definitely saving that for last haha! I started with The History of Middle-Earth series in January, and it’s been a great ride ever since. Thoroughly enjoying my Tolkien Era now that my kids are grown and I can buy stuff for me! 🥰
