Seems to me what we’re seeing across the federal government are the dividends being paid from years of adopting market language to talk about public goods. Run government like a business? Businesses exist to make profit. Government exists to serve the people. We’re about to see the difference now.

Every single trans person is referred to as an "activist" just for existing, because prominent bigots in our society have deemed trans life a political issue -- so this logic suggests that trans people simply cannot be journalists. And major news organizations agree, which makes the issue worse.
This isn't meant to be a dunk, but I'm genuinely surprised when people don't understand that journalists generally cannot take part in activism if they want to be taken seriously as journalists
