Last day of #memademay in my pink denim Burda overalls f/ Jul ‘23 and a rtw tank that I tie-dyed with bleach. I only wear these overalls a few times a season, but I always get compliments on them. This rtw tank had a bleach stain on it so I tie-dyed with bleach to cover it up.

#memademay Wfh in my vintage McCalls linen shorts again. I spent a lot of time last autumn/winter sewing really detailed garments to wear to the office, so it’s kind of nice to crank out a few pairs of these shorts this month and wear them a lot.

#memademay in my Itch to Stitch Cantabria dress from Jul ‘24. 2nd time wearing it this month. I wear this dress pretty much weekly in season so I’d like another one that’s similarly versatile. I made a 2nd one in blue and coral but the colors are too much so I’m trying to fix it.

#memademay Yesterday was my pink denim Burda overalls from Jul ‘23. Even tho they’re full length, the color feels more spring/summer so that’s when I wear them. To wear in the heat, I roll up the legs and just wear a bralette under.

#memademay Fabric dyeing day in my M9541 linen shorts from Jul‘24. Today’s outfit is all safe for any linen dye splashes. The linen denim frays terribly and the seams started coming apart so they’re mostly my cleaning and PJ shorts. Also got a bleach stain which I tried unsuccessfully to overbleach.

#memademay Wfh in my clowncore linen shorts sewn this month from 1/8 yard swatches. I feel terribly clever for using up this fabric, and I didn’t feel as self conscious as I thought I would about wearing them in public.

#memademay 78F today = linen! Top is handknit Tegan in KP Lindy Chain f Sep ‘24. Shorts are M9541 in navy linen finished today. Vintage pattern from my aunt that I resized to fit myself. Hope these can become staple summer shorts in a couple colors. Finished tank too late to wear much last year.

#memademay Chilly so I’m wearing my handknit 🧶 Nuppu sweater f Dec ‘20. Added grey flowers last spring to cover stains & love it now! Also bleached these rtw jeans from faded black & wear them all the time. I like saturated or hi-contrast so the original cream and faded black didn’t get much wear.

My pledge for #memademay is to wear a clothing item made by me each day and to document with thoughts on the item. I’m wearing my hand knit Beatnik sweater from Mar ‘21. I wouldn’t make a wool sweater with short sleeves again as there’s only a few weeks a year it’s not too hot or too cold. 🧶

Continuing my informal #winterofcareandrepair ! The foam wore out on my work headphones so I crocheted replacements out of cotton 🧶. Not a crocheter but chained a ring, worked 15 (US) dc into ring, worked 2 more rounds of dc.

I added some vintage buttons to the flaps of these rtw cargo jeans, so the flaps wouldn’t just stick out and look cheap. I enjoy the vintage comment on the button card implying that only women can buy these buttons! #sewing
