Yeah like I'm gay for people but would be bi for dogs, have zero interest in felines, some interest in stallions, and a "would but not insane" for bears. But really, I just want every animal I meet to know I love them and want to cuddle and pet them before anything else.

True, but I can't really blame someone for wanting to live within a more socially acceptable stratum when they're already an outcast. We're social animals and not everyone is cut out to push the needle. Though it's definitely concerning how hard some people go into puritan thought and placation.

Eh, growing up religious I can understand the doublethink and as a nerd I can understand boundaries between fantasy and reality. If someone is ABSOLUTELY convinced that an animal can't consent I get it, but it feels like that's the last hurdle.

Usually it's icky like someone is going to give you cooties and not a well reasoned argument. The biggest one for me is when they object to me giving a dog a handy while they eat a product that is directly the result of way worse things done to animals.
