there are people who sincerely believe that these megawatt class markov chains possess even a glimmer of reason, awareness or thought.

AI gen is terrible & theft &c &c.
Here I'm using flux1 locally to refine a crummy sketch I painted with whatever Corel Paint is these days, to visualize and underwater LED installations in wintertime.

My photonic raytracing tool for optics design has a view mode that started as a sanity checking and debugging aid; a 3D model viewer that shows the ray paths refracting through the simulated optic. As a side effect it also makes for trippy visuals and kind of looks like rocket exhaust.

Well that didn't work. Some water trickled in. Not much but enough to be a concern. First I'll try more compression of the gasket cord, and also adding some grease to the join. I'll also add a 1mm retaining barrier around the soft silicone plugs.
November 28, 2024 at 1:58 AM
well, here goes nothing. Out of the mold the plugs aren't perfect, flashing at the seam. But good enogh.
Filled interior with 5mm steel dowels for displacement. Sealed lid and put in water to soak for 24 hours. Then we'll see.

Silicone molds are usually intermediates like shape cavities but in this experiment I'll try to create compressible gasket plugs for the LED strips and cables that goes into the junction box.If this fails I'll have to try other rubbers like polyurethane (but I know how nasty that stuff can be.)

This is an incredible common furniture corner brace but every distributor has their own dimensional drawing with numbers that vary by several millimeters. I'm guessing many factories in china make these to similar but not exactly same specs and there is no ISO or ANSI standard covering them.

Still thinking about the dynamic range of these I think commercially not very successful "HD108" 16-bit addressable LEDs.

Practicalities aside, I find them absolutely excellent for UI purposes since they're flicker free and you can create "stepless" animations at low direct-viewing brightness.

WIP - bottom half of a junction box accommodating 8 vinyl jacketed LED strips side by side, to serve as component in a simple tileable 8xn pixel grid. Need to finish a mold set for forming a silicone "plug" around the ends of the LED strips and supply wires
