My nemesis was a fellow Sergeant/squad leader in my platoon. Aggressively stupid, disliked by subordinates and peers. I PCSed and saw his name on the WOCS Selection List. It motivated me to get off my own ass and finish my WOCS packet. I reported to WOBOLC and he was on BN staff. He had washed out.

I mean, if it's as responsive as J.A.R.V.I.S. in Iron Man with an LCD, sign me up. But not in a public office setting. That's asinine.

If you're looking at equipment at all, don't snooze on OEM attachments for your grill. I've got a griddle top and a smoker box for my grill and it's really raised my outdoor cooking game. I don't have to have 3 different devices on my patio.

He's retired military. I guess this phrasing is throwing people off because it seems to be a theme in the comments. His second career is running a coffee company. I've seen his LinkedIn posts IRL and he's right.

I'm of two minds about that. Just like "only Nixon could go to China", only Manchin could get elected in WV. It's not unreasonable that a CA. Dem looks different than an Alabama Dem. Is that better than having a second GOP WV Senator? Especially when we struggle to just get to a Senate majority.

Coming from Group, multiple CW3/4s at the CO and BN-level, me being the senior for the Brigade and only one other CW3 total (who's down in the motor pool) was a little weird. Making it worse, all the junior WOs looked at me like I walked on water because I had Airborne Wings and a SF SSI-FWTS.

What was wild is I was coming back to that unit after 3 years in SF as the SENIOR WO and got tasked by the BDE CO to lead WOPD. I was a CW3 with maybe a year in grade and somehow I was the responsible adult. IIRC, we had 5 WOs under investigation/flagged/pending discipline out of maybe 12 deployed.

The ex-Warrant, now a convicted federal felon, certainly bears some tangential responsibility. The unit got back from Afg in spring of 2011 as I joined.
